[Official Interview] GHOST9 takes flight into the world, looking back on their journey and growth so far ahead of their 5th anniversary live event, and their feelings towards their fans

The talented Korean boy band GHOST9 will be holding a live event, 'GHOST9 SPECIAL LIVE EVENT THE STORY WE SHARE', in Osaka and Tokyo in September and October 2025.

GHOST9 performed in Tokyo in July of this year, their first Japan tour in about a year and a half, captivating audiences with a stunning performance that showcased their diverse talents, including singing, dancing, and rapping. This performance once again demonstrated their popularity and presence in Japan.

With many eagerly awaiting their return, their upcoming Japan tour has been announced. What's more, this will be a special performance, marking the 5th anniversary of their debut, allowing them to spend time with Japanese GHOSTIEs (GHOST9 fans). For the members, being able to reunite with their fans on this memorable day will be an irreplaceable experience.

GHOST9 is a boy band that officially debuted in September 2020 with their first mini-album, 'DOOR'. The group's name embodies their aspiration: "Adventurous boys bring comfort and hope to friends around the world." Comprised of elite members who underwent three years of training and intensive training under a structured system, the group boasts a diverse range of talents, from visuals to vocals, rap, and dancing.

In February 2025, they embarked on their "THE NEW MIDNIGHT" tour, which kicked off in Los Angeles and visited nine cities across the US and Latin America, including New York. Following that in March, they embarked on a European tour that visited Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and France, further expanding their global popularity.

And this September, GHOST9 will celebrate their fifth anniversary since their debut.
As they approach this milestone year, we spoke to them about what they've learned from their journey so far, their thoughts on live performances, and messages to fans.

Q. It's been almost five years since your debut. What do you feel has become your strength during your career?

SONJUNHYUNG: My competitive spirit allowed me to take on various challenges, and I think I've naturally grown as an all-rounder.

LEEWOOJIN: Now, rather than trying to perform the same way on stage as we practiced, I truly enjoy being on stage and have a stronger desire to communicate with our fans. I feel that these aspects have become a major strength of GHOST9.

Q. This live event marks our 5th anniversary, so please tell us what we should all look out for in the stage and what we should pay attention to.

SHIN: For this stage, we prepared to show you as many different songs as possible.

CHOIJUNSEONG: We're preparing to show you a new side of us, so please look forward to it!

Q. When you were struggling as a group, how did you overcome it? Is there anyone or anyone who supported you?

CHOIJUNSEONG: When I'm worried, I often naturally rely on the members I spend time with. Being with everyone naturally makes me smile, and I think those smiles have helped me overcome worries and difficult moments.

PRINCE: When we have worries, we exchange opinions and stay together with high expectations. In particularly difficult situations, I often trust and follow our leader JUNHYUNG's words, and each time I do, I'm filled with gratitude.

Q. What moment during a live performance makes you feel like "this is the happiest moment!" and why?

LEEKANGSUNG: The moment when we sing out loud together with our GHOSTIE (fans) is the most fun and happiest. We feel the energy of being one, and it feels very special!

PRINCE: Performing on stage is fun, but I'm happiest when I'm communicating with our fans. Hearing the cheers and laughter of our fans gives me energy and makes performing even more enjoyable.

Q. What places or things did you think were great the last time you visited Japan?

SHIN: I went to a udon restaurant run by a married couple. The atmosphere was warm and the food was great, so I remember going there many times.

LEEKANGSUNG: There's a vintage shop that I've often visited, and I'm planning to make time to visit it again this time. I discover something new every time, which makes my trip even more enjoyable.

Q. Please give a message to GHOST9, who are always there to support us.

SONJUNHYUNG: Thank you so much for always waiting for us and supporting us. We will continue to do our best with music and amazing performances to repay your gratitude. Once again, thank you. And we love you.
