Director Park Chan-wook's new film "Helpless," which premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, has been pre-sold to over 200 countries worldwide.
According to ENM and Moho Film, "Shikaganai" has been confirmed for sale in over 200 countries, including North America, the UK, France, Germany, and Japan.
This figure surpasses the 192-country advance sales record of director Park Chan-wook's "The Goodbye" (2022). CJ ENM has already surpassed the costs of marketing and public relations with advance sales revenue.
"It Can't Be Helped" is a story about Min-soo (played by Lee Byung-hun), the head of a family who is fired and struggles alone to find a new job.
After the screening, the film received positive reviews from critics and audiences, raising expectations that it would win an award, but unfortunately it did not win any awards. Director Park Chan-wook and Lee Byung-hun will be traveling from Italy to Toronto.
"Can't Be Helped" was invited to the gala presentation at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, which opened on the 4th, and Lee Byung-hun was nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The film is scheduled to be released in Korea on the 24th.
