"The Middle World," the first Korean feature film created using AI with Sen, is about people trapped in the "middle world" between this world and the other world, and the messengers of the other world who try to destroy their souls.
The released poster depicts the overwhelming scale of the "middle world" with a single shot in unique colors, giving a sense of the worldview the film will present.
The collapsed Gwanghwamun Gate, Seoul's landmark, gives an unrealistic feeling and at the same time evokes the film's title, "The Middle Ground."
The teaser that was released at the same time further increases interest in the film. The scene where a pillar of fire falls from the sky and Gwanghwamun Square explodes shows the scale of the film.
The narrator, "We will organize all the souls moving around in this world," and Chang-won's (played by Byun Yo-Han) line, "We are all dead," are reminiscent of the events unfolding in the "middle world."
The video teases that the life-threatening chase with the Grim Reaper that is being pursued will not go smoothly. In particular, the appearance and movements of the twelve zodiac gods, which have been transformed into Grim Reapers using AI, are in perfect harmony with the actors' performances.
Despite being a short teaser, it is immersive. Director Kang Yoon said, "I was excited about this new way of working from the beginning, and I had a lot of fun while working on it. I hope the audience who will watch 'The Middle Ground' will be able to enjoy it."
"I wanted to show everyone something a little different and interesting, so I worked hard with the actors, and I hope you enjoy the movie as it is," he said, expressing his thoughts on the film's release.
"The Middle Ground" will be released in CGV cinemas nationwide in October. The running time is 60 minutes.
