「2PM」チャン・ウヨン、7年の悩みを終えた叫び
”Interview” ”2PM's Jang Wooyong ends 7 years of worries with a cry... ”Do what you want, it'll be fine!”
"I didn't try to make any compromises," said Jang Woo-yong of the boy band 2PM during a recent round-table interview at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
He made this remark while reminiscing about the work on his mini-album "I'm Into." His remarks indirectly showed how seriously and intensely he worked on the album.
It has been seven years since Wooyong released a new album in Korea. Wooyong said, "I had a lot of thoughts and ambitions. I spent a long time thinking, 'How can I do better?'
"A lot of time has passed since then. During that time, there have been changes in the management system of the company (JYP Entertainment) (such as the introduction of an artist headquarters system), and we had to adapt," he recalled.
In the end, I reset all my thoughts and prepared for the new album with the thought, 'I can't delay any more,' but I didn't compromise."
Into', he recorded five songs, including the title track 'Tink Too Much', 'Carpet', 'Swamp', 'Reality' and 'Homecance'. After much deliberation,
Wooyong, who has been working on the backing tracks, has completed the album with songs that incorporate his own story. Wooyong said, "At an internal meeting, there was a request to tell Wooyong's story to the fullest.
I've never talked about myself in an album before, but this time I was brave enough to do so," she said, adding, "I chose the album title 'I'm In Love' to mean 'I've included the things I'm obsessed with right now.'"
The title track, "Tink Too," is a medium-tempo track that highlights the funky sound.
"Much" is a song that perfectly captures Wooyong's story of releasing a new album after getting out of the swamp of worries. Wooyong, who participated in writing the lyrics and composing the song, said, "Everyone has felt this way at least once.
"I wanted to resonate with people with this song, which contains the message of breaking away from deep thoughts and doing what you want to do," he said.
" Rapper Damin participated in "Tink Too Much" as a featured artist and added his distinctive rap. Wooyong said, "Two years ago, Sw
I met him for the first time when I was with ings, but he was actually a former member of Hottest (2PM's official fandom)," he said with a laugh, "I never contacted him after that, but when I heard this song,
"I thought it would be great if Damin rapped, so I proposed to feature him," he said, adding, "Although the schedule was tight, I worked hard to rap in multiple versions.
"I'm grateful that you wrote that," he said, expressing his gratitude. Wooyong, one of the leading dancers in the K-pop world, made a special request for interest in the title song's performance.
Wooyong said, "It may look simple, but the dance is extremely difficult. It's so difficult that it requires full use of all your joints, and I even had to go to the hospital during the preparation period."
After revealing the behind-the-scenes story, he expressed his passion by saying, "My body is exhausted and in pain, but I'm happy to be able to present new music and performances."
Among the songs on the record, "Carpet" captures the pleasant and warm feelings he felt while spending time with his niece and nephew in his hometown of Busan.
"Swamp" is a trendy remake of the 2000s hip-hop that he enjoys listening to, and "Reality" is a track that goes well with Jang Woo-yong's dance.
"Mukangsu" is a song that reflects Wooyong's preference for spending time alone at home. Wooyong said, "The songs on my new album are not just about me, but stories that everyone can relate to.
"I hope that everyone will enjoy the album," he said, adding, "I will work hard to promote so that many people will be interested in all the songs recorded on the album."
