China's CPI fell 0.3% in September from a year earlier: Chinese media
The National Bureau of Statistics announced the September Consumer Price Index (CPI) on the 15th. According to the figures, the national CPI for September fell 0.3% compared to the same month last year. Of this, the urban CPI fell 0.3%.
Prices in the industrial sector fell 2% and 0.5% in rural areas. Food prices fell 4.4%, non-food prices rose 0.7%, consumer goods prices fell 0.8%, and service prices rose 0.6%.
Looking at the average for January to September, the national CPI fell 0.1% compared to the same period last year. Among food prices, pork prices fell 17.0% compared to the same month last year, fresh vegetables fell 13.7%, and fruit fell 4.
On the other hand, the national CPI for September increased by 0.1% compared to August. Of these, urban areas remained flat and rural areas increased by 0.2%. Food prices increased by 0.7% and non-food prices increased by 0.2%.
Prices of pork decreased 0.7%, fresh vegetables increased 6.1%, and fruit increased 1.7% compared to the previous month.
