MAMA AWARDS in emergency meeting due to Hong Kong high-rise apartment fire

A massive fire at a high-rise apartment building in Hong Kong has thrown the CJ ENM K-POP awards ceremony "2025 MAMA AWARDS," scheduled to be held locally, into a state of emergency.
According to an interview with a Korean media outlet on the 27th (today), the awards secretariat held a meeting to discuss how to respond to the large-scale fire that occurred in a high-rise apartment building in Hong Kong the day before.
It has been revealed that an emergency meeting has been held. The 2025 MAMA AWARDS will be held at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong for two days from the 28th to the 29th of this month.
The secretariat is currently considering operational procedures and ways to revise the stage composition and script content of the cast.

Malaysian actor Michelle Yeoh, who will be joining the cast, has also agreed to join the project. Some of the cast members and management office staff are already in Hong Kong.
The management has agreed to share the details with the cast once a response plan has been decided.
CJ ENM has not yet released an official statement to the media. Meanwhile, according to local Hong Kong media reports, a 32-story building in the Tai Po area in northern Hong Kong collapsed at around 2:52 pm the previous day.
A fire broke out at the Wang Fuk Court, a residential high-rise apartment building in the city of Wang Fuk. As of 6 a.m. on the same day, at least 44 people were reported dead and 279 people were reported missing.
