President Lee: ”December 3rd is National Sovereignty Day”... ”The Nobel Peace Prize should go to the Korean people” = South Korea

South Korean President Lee Jae-myung announced on the 3rd that "December 3rd will be designated as 'National Sovereignty Day' to honor the great courage and actions of our people," and that "there will be no more coup attempts."
"The integration of justice is essential to build a nation where there is no one who threatens the light of national sovereignty," he said.
In a separate statement, he said, "The Korean people, who overcame a crisis of democracy in a peaceful manner that is unprecedented in the history of the world, are fully deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize."
President Lee said, "I would like to designate this day, the day when national sovereignty was truly realized, as a statutory public holiday so that future generations can remember and experience it forever as a historical experience, and I would like our people to remember this day in their daily lives at least once a year."
"It is important to remember that day and pledge anew," he said. "The fact that we overthrew illegal martial law and drove out unjust power is a major event that will remain in the history of democracy around the world for a long time," he added.
If the people were to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for their achievements in saving democracy, restoring peace, and making the greatness of democracy known to the whole world, it would have a great impact on all countries that are shaken by conflict and division.
"The Revolution of Light is not over yet. The investigation into the truth behind the civil unrest and the trial of those involved in the civil unrest are still ongoing," he said.
"Severe punishment for those involved in this is just the beginning. Those who destroyed constitutional order and even plotted war for their own personal ambitions must be brought to justice," he emphasized.
