When lawyer Jeong-in (Shin Hye Sun) hears that her mother Hwa-ja (Bae Jong-ok) has been accused of murder, she rushes back to her hometown, but is unable to find a suitable husband.
When he finds out that he was framed as the culprit based on circumstantial evidence without any actual manipulation, he begins to doubt the truth and takes on the defense. The more he investigates the case, the more suspicious circumstances surrounding the villagers involved become apparent.
The surviving victim, Mayor Joo (Heo Junho), frames Hwa-ja as a suspect while displaying a suspicious attitude in an attempt to hide the truth, leading to a fierce confrontation with Jeong-in, whose suspicions grow deeper...
