This is a science fiction story about Captain Tar's life-or-death struggle. In 2029, the Republic of Korea's lunar exploration ship Uri sets out on a journey to the moon. The world pays attention to this great challenge, but the solar wind hits the Uri due to a sunspot explosion.
Only Hwang Sun-woo (Do Kyung-soo) is left behind. This was not the first time that a Korean spacecraft had headed for the moon. Five years ago, they took flight with great dreams, but everyone was watching over them.
The Nara explodes in mid-air. In an attempt to protect the only survivor, Sun-woo, from another tragedy, the space center and the government join forces, and the entire nation prays for his survival.
In order to bring Sun-woo back safely, the former center director, Kim Jae-gook (Sol Kyung Gu), who had been hiding in the mountains since taking responsibility for the Nara accident five years ago, joins them.
He can't do it on his own. He seeks help from Yoon Moon-young (Kim Heui Ae), the main director of NASA's manned lunar orbit, who is another hope for rescuing Sun-woo, but it's not that easy.
Eguk puts everything on the line so that he doesn't lose someone again... The Korean movie "The Moon" is about a space corpsman stranded on the moon when something goes wrong and the people who desperately try to save him.
