The first footage of the Korean sci-fi blockbuster ”THE MOON” has arrived! Report on the successful launch of Korea's manned space rocket
Korean top stars Sol Kyung Gu, Do Kyung Soo, and Kim Heui Ae star in the sci-fi blockbuster THE WILD BOYS, directed by Kim Yong Hwa, director of the Along with the Gods series.
"MOON" finally arrives in Japan this summer! The movie will be starring Sol Kyung Gu, a veteran actor who has appeared in "Peppermint Candy" and other Korean films, and is a hit across Asia.
Do Kyung-soo, the main vocalist of the hugely popular K-pop group EXO, will star in his first film since his military service in director Kim Yong Hwa's film, following "Along With the Gods," and become yet another big hit.
The cast also includes Kim Heui Ae, whose passionate performance in the TV series "The World of the Married" is still fresh in our memory. With a rock-solid lineup, this is a Hollywood blockbuster-level production.
The story of this film is about a Korean manned rocket called Uri that takes off into space with a crew of three to carry out manned exploration of the moon.
However, just before entering lunar orbit, a communication problem occurs due to the effects of solar wind, and an accident during repairs causes the crew's lives to be lost. The only remaining rookie astronaut, Sun-woo (Do Kyo-woo),
In order to bring back the missing soldier, Sol Kyung Gu, the head of the manned rocket explosion five years ago, who had left the organization after taking responsibility for it, is called back to the space center.
Having decided to take over, Sonu succeeds in landing on the moon despite facing a serious crisis. While the ground staff rushes around hoping for a slim chance of rescue, will Sonu set foot on Earth's soil again?
The first footage of the film has arrived! The content of the footage is a special feature of a news program, and shows the successful launch of the manned rocket Uri, which aims to land on the moon, in full detail.
The video begins with the three astronauts who were selected to be crew members of the Uri spacecraft being introduced in order. First, there is the man who left his pregnant wife behind on Earth to go to the moon.
Captain Lee Sang-Woo-won (Kim Rae-Won) is aiming for the landing, followed by Cho Yi-Kyung (Lee Yi-Kyung) who boards the spacecraft with a stuffed gorilla given to her by her son, and finally the new space astronaut.
Hwang Sun-woo (Do Kyung-soo), a trooper, said, "I trained at the UDT (Overseas Special Warfare Command), but now I'm a new astronaut. I want to complete my mission with my more experienced seniors and become a space pilot."
"I will not let these sacrifices go to waste," he said. His strong determination can be seen in Sun-woo's expression as he talks about wanting to clear the grief of the crew who died in the explosion of the manned rocket Nare five years ago.
Known as the Navy's special forces, the UDT undergoes rigorous training, and it is said that approximately 70% of applicants drop out, but we can look forward to seeing Sonu, a member of this elite unit, in action.
Next, the video shows astronauts undergoing training, from trying out a rotating chair that recreates a sensation similar to space sickness to jet skiing during zero-gravity training.
Do Kyung-soo and his teammates actually experienced training such as playing basketball on board the aircraft and diving into a pool in a spacesuit weighing about 120 kg to simulate an extravehicular activity.
The footage is full of excitement, as it shows that the whole world is watching them as they attempt to achieve the amazing feat of landing on the moon for the first time in 55 years.
Director Kim Yong Hwa, who will be directing this film, said that he spent more than seven months breathing life into the unknown universe.
The technology in filmmaking has grown. And I wanted to create a work that would be satisfactory not only technically, but also as a TV series. Even when examining every single detail, there is a clear difference between the film and reality.
"I don't think there's any awkwardness between the two," he said, showing his confidence in the quality of the sci-fi blockbuster "The Moon." [Cast & Staff]
