On the 6th, the South Korean Navy posted a video commemorating the anniversary on its official YouTube channel.
The video shows NCT member Tae Yeon, who is currently serving at the Naval Headquarters National Music Design Battalion Public Relations Battalion.
Next, the Seoul National Cemetery appeared with a narration by Tae Yeon saying, "We remember the sacrifices of that day. We are grateful to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and peace."
The video also included a moment of silence at the National Cemetery. Tae Yeon was a veteran of the 1953 Korean War and a recipient of the Military Medal in 1954.
The name of Tae Yeon and his sister was inscribed on the stone, drawing attention. It was soon revealed that he was the grandson of a war hero.
Tae Yeon once said in an interview that his grandfather was the person he respected the most.
At the time, Tae Yeon expressed his affection for his grandfather, saying, "My grandfather is very cool. All of our family respects him." Meanwhile, Tae Yeon became the first member of the "NCT" team to enlist in the Navy in April.
He continues to serve as a naval officer and is scheduled to be discharged on December 14, 2025.
