The group SEVENTEEN gave a speech as UNESCO Youth Ambassadors. They announced that they would donate $1 million to UNESCO and launch a campaign for young people.
On the afternoon of the 26th (Korean time), SEVENTEEN visited the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. On this day, they were appointed as UNESCO Youth Goodwill Ambassadors and gave a speech for about 10 minutes.
Joshua gave a speech on behalf of the 13 members of SEVENTEEN. "We have learned and grown for a long time, and we have taken one step at a time. Now, we are here as youth ambassadors to serve you all."
"I was able to stand in front of the members," he said, reflecting on the past nine years of SEVENTEEN. "Since our debut, SEVENTEEN's music has been a reflection of the members' youth.
"SEVENTEEN's experience was equal to youth, and gradually the members became representative of the younger generation and supported the dreams of the youth," he said.
"Thanks to that sense of mission, I started making donations and have been sending funds to child-related organizations since 2017.
In 2022, we collaborated with the Korean Committee for UNESCO to launch the global campaign "#GoingTogether."
"#GoingTogether" is a campaign for youth education, and SEVENTEEN will join hands with UNESCO Headquarters to take the campaign to the next level.
SEVENTEEN plans to donate $1 million and launch the Global Youth Grant Scheme program in collaboration with UNESCO.
