According to Brazilian media "Omelete", JUNG KOOK's first solo documentary film "JUNG KOOK: I AM
"JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL" debuted at No. 1 in the Brazilian weekend box office (September 19-23).
"STILL" recorded an audience of about 80,000 people and box office revenue of about 800 million won (about 86 million yen) in Brazil, and it has surpassed "Transformers: One" and "Beetlejuice" in box office revenue.
It took the top spot, beating out popular movies such as "Beetlejuice." In addition, JUNG KOOK will be releasing his own documentary, which will feature live performances by Asian solo artists in 2024 and the drama "Beetlejuice."
According to the Korea Film Council's Cinema Ticket Information System (KOBIS), "JUNG KOOK: I AM" recorded the highest box office revenue among documentary films.
"STILL" also ranked 9th in the German box office over the 38 week (September 20th to 22nd) with weekend sales of approximately 330 million won (approximately 35 million yen).
In Mexico, the film made 2.95 billion won (US$3.2 million) in revenue from September 20 to 22, debuting at No. 2 on the weekend box office.
"JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL" ranked 10th in Egypt where it was only shown in three theaters, and 6th in Thailand, taking the top 10 spots at the box office in countries around the world.
This has once again proven Jungkook's reputation as a world-class icon and the powerful Jungkook Effect.
"JUNG KOOK: I AM STILL" was released at No. 2 on the US box office chart and ranked No. 9 at the North American box office over the three-day weekend.
On the first day of its release, the film attracted over 66,000 viewers in Australia, ranking 4th at the box office.
"STILL" debuted at number 5 in the box office charts, and JUNG KOOK is the first K-POP idol member to star in a live concert and documentary film.
It also set a new record by achieving the highest grossing in a single day. Over the next five days, it attracted a cumulative audience of 22,176. "JUNG KOOK: I" was released in a total of 114 countries.
Since its release, "AM STILL" has generated over 11.5 billion won (approximately 123,000 yen) in revenue worldwide (as of the morning of September 23rd, Korean time).
