A photo shoot and interview for actor So Ji Sub has been released. So Ji Sub did a photo shoot with "ARENA HOMME+".
So Ji Sub is about to return to TV series "The Square" for the first time in three years.
"The Square" is a Netflix series based on the webtoon of the same name, in which So Ji Sub avenges the death of his brother.
He played the role of Nam Ki Joon, who returns to the organization he left to exact revenge. So Ji Sub explained that the reason he decided to appear in "The Square" was "a noir action movie with a strong masculine vibe."
What kind of character did he want his character Nam Ki-joon to be? "In the original novel, Ki-joon is a man of steel. He can't be defeated by anyone.
I wanted to convey a sense of sadness from this character. That was the point I and the director discussed the most.
Of course, Gi-jun is not a good person, but on the other hand, I wanted people to feel sorry for him.
"As the story unfolds, I hope viewers will realise that Ki-joon is also a flawed person," he said.
So Ji Sub said that his preferences when choosing works are different as an actor and as an audience member.
He chose "Romeo and Juliet" as the movie of his life. What is his role as an actor?
"When I act, I like works with a heavy atmosphere like 'The Plaza.' I like actors who don't have extreme emotional ups and downs, and I like acting that expresses with eyes rather than words.
The acting that I want to do and the acting that other people want to see are different. People who like and watch So Ji Sub prefer romantic comedies.
Even now, people often ask me, "When are you going to do a romantic comedy?"
As with any job, there is a distance between what you want to do and what is appreciated."
So Ji Sub also shared his thoughts on what makes a good actor. "An actor who is physically and mentally healthy, who does his best in his work, and who has no regrets is a good actor.
I think it's good. I think the shortest route to becoming a good actor is to become a good person. Regardless of how good or bad your acting is, you have to have a healthy attitude towards acting.
That way, you can avoid being late, do your best, and have no regrets." A photo shoot and interview featuring actor So Ji Sub's candid side are available on AR
