BTS' JUNG KOOK's ”Seven” breaks new record on Billboard's Global 200... beating ”Dynamite”
BTS' JUNG KOOK has made history once again on Billboard. The American music media, Billboard, announced the top 100 charts on October 4th.
According to the new chart, Jung Kook's first solo debut song, "Seven," ranked 133rd on the Global 200.
Since its release, the song has set an astonishing record by charting on the Global 200 for 114 consecutive weeks.
This achievement breaks the record held by BTS' hit song "Dynamite" (113 weeks), making it the first and longest-running hit by an Asian group or solo artist.
It also reached 84th place on the Global (excluding America) chart on October 4th, making it the first Asian solo artist to achieve the longest streak of 115 consecutive weeks on the chart.
Prior to this, "Seven" had been ranked No. 1 on the Global (excluding America) chart for nine consecutive weeks and the Global 200 for seven consecutive weeks. Furthermore, it was the highest-ranking song by an Asian artist on both charts.
JUNG KOOK is the first solo artist from around the world to top the Global 200 charts simultaneously for seven consecutive weeks, setting a new record as the first and longest such record to do so.
He had more than three songs ("Seven," "3D," and "Standing Next to You") simultaneously number one on both the "Global (excluding America)" and "Dubai" charts in one year.
"Seven" is ranked #1 on Billboard's main singles chart, "Hot 100," which is regarded as a representative indicator of global pop music trends.
It debuted at number one on the Billboard 100 and stayed on the chart for 15 weeks.
"Shal" debuted at No. 3 on the main singles chart, "Top 100," and remained on the chart for 14 weeks, the first time a song by a K-pop solo artist has done so.
The band's success on Spotify continues. "Seven" is the first song by an Asian artist to reach 2.56 billion streams.
It has also remained on the Global Top Songs chart for 116 consecutive weeks, the longest period ever for a song by an Asian solo artist, and continues to break new records.
