【単独インタビュー】「OMEGA X」のユニット「OX:N」、新曲に込めた思いやユニットならではの関係性など“今”をありのままに語る!
[Exclusive Interview] OMEGA X's unit OX:N talks frankly about their current situation, including the thoughts they put into their new song and the unique relationships between the unit!
OX:N, a four-member unit made up of members of the K-pop boy group OMEGA X, will release their first Japanese single album, SWAY, on October 23rd.
From November 6th to 11th, they will be holding a release event, live concert, and FAN-CON in Osaka, followed by promotions in Tokyo starting on the 13th. With the unity and energy that only the four of them can have,
They continue to captivate Japanese fans. We managed to find time in their busy schedules to conduct a special interview with them. They talk about the thoughts they put into their new song "SWAY" and the sense of unity they felt with their fans in Osaka.
We asked them to talk frankly about the current state of OX:N, including stories from behind the scenes and the unique relationships that exist within the unit.
Q. First, please introduce yourself. Also, what are you into recently? What are you enjoying or what are you enjoying?
Please let me know any TMIs. YECHAN: Hello. I'm YECHAN, the youngest member of "OX:N". Lately, I've been into eating delicious food in Japan. Personal
I also have some old friends who live here, so I went to eat herbal hotpot with them in Tokyo, and yesterday I wanted to try ordering delivery, so I ordered pizza from Uber Eats.
XEN: Hello. My name is XEN. I'm 28 years old. Lately, I've been researching various things related to stress relief, and the latest trend is taking a shower in the bathroom.
Apparently, when you wash or take a shower, you turn off all the lights. Yesterday, I tried it and turned off all the lights in the bathroom and took a shower, and it was great. I think it's worth trying.
I think so. Q. Would you recommend it to your fans? XEN: I've only tried it once, so I'd like to try it a few more times.
JAEHAN: Hello. My name is JAEHAN from "OX:N". I've always loved taking photos, but when I came to Japan this time,
I brought my camera and took some photos last night, which was a lot of fun. I've been taking photos of the other members too, so I've become really into photography lately.
JEHYUN: I'm JEHYUN. I haven't been into anything in particular lately, but yesterday on TMI, I ate chusam (stir-fried pork innards). Q.
What kind of work is your first Japanese single album "SWAY" that was released on October 23rd? Including the title track "SWIRKY" and "SOMEBODY",
Please tell us about the thoughts you wanted to convey throughout the game, any memorable episodes that occurred during production, and any points or appeal that you would like people who are discovering "OX:N" for the first time through this work to pay particular attention to.
YECHAN: Personally, I think that both the songs "SWIRKY" and "SOMEBODY" on this album are filled with "human feelings."
" expresses the desire to escape from the everyday life of living like a machine, while "SOMEBODY" expresses loneliness and the desire to be loved by someone.
These feelings are something that everyone has, we ourselves feel, and I think this album is trying to convey that these are very natural emotions.
JAEHAN: First of all, if there's an anecdote, "SWIRKY" is a song that Yechan and I worked on together, and it was a song that we wrote after being inspired by when we came to Japan.
So, I'm happy to be able to release "SWIRKY" as my Japanese debut album, and I think it's a really great song. Q.
What were your impressions after actually performing SWAY's songs on stage at this event in Japan?
Was there a moment when you realized something new, made a new discovery, or thought, "I want to present this song like this" or "This kind of expression is fun"?
XEN: What I felt while performing "SWIRKY" was the same as the previous album "N"
It was a little different from the title song "YOU," and I felt like the members were in sync with each other. For example, there were parts where we called out together, and we did the ad together.
Even though we hadn't decided on the division of labor for the ribbing and other parts, everyone naturally knew where they needed to be, and even while we were on stage, we felt like, "We're
"They really work well together," and "It's so much fun." YECHAN: And after "SOMEBODY" was released, XEN hyung had a message with the fans.
Apparently, they had informed us in advance on The App and Live Stream that they would be happy if we sang this part together. So, we released a one-minute video (short video).
Right from the start of the performance, the fans were singing along, and since this song is in the catchy rap genre, they were able to run around freely on stage and listen to the fans' voices.
The audience was jumping around together, and it really made me feel like "everyone was enjoying the performance together." Q.
Release event, live performance, and FAN-CO held in Osaka from November 6th to 11th
Is there a particularly memorable moment or interaction with Japanese fans that you remember most? JEHYUN: I think the call-out part was the most memorable.
I think this is a part that all of the FOR X (fans) can easily sing along to and join in on, so I'd be happy if you could join in on that part.
YECHAN: First of all, FAN-CON was really fun. And when we left Korea for Osaka last week, we had a performance scheduled in Korea before that, so we had a lot of fun.
I was preparing for the 3 songs, so it was a bit of a physical strain. But when I came back to Japan and performed with the fans, I felt an energy and excitement that I never expected.
Q. What did you eat or what were you looking forward to during your stay in Japan? Any recommendations or memorable experiences?
Please tell us what you want to eat and where you want to go in the future. JAEHAN: When I came to Japan this time, I definitely wanted to eat sukiyaki. I really wanted to eat it.
However, there was a sukiyaki restaurant right in front of the hotel where I was staying in Osaka, so I ate my fill there. XEN: I've only ever been to Japan for work, so I've never come here for travel or leisure.
But I've always wanted to go to Kyoto, and I've been talking about it to my fans and when I've been asked this question for years, but I've never been there.
I don't have any. I want to go to Kyoto and drink a lot of matcha. JEHYUN: I've always wanted to go to Sapporo, but I've only ever been there for work, so I've never been there before.
If I have the chance, I would like to come and have a casual visit. YECHAN: I like to just wander around without making a plan, but this town we are in now is a little
You can find everything you need just by walking. There are so many people, so you might stop by a restaurant that looks delicious while walking, or if you see people looking at something in a crowded place, join in and take a look.
Q. Through all the events in Japan so far, have you felt that you have grown personally or made any new discoveries?
XEN: First of all, what I felt was OMEGA... Ah, this is just my personal feeling, but "OMEGA
The feeling when we come to Japan and perform as 11 members of "O:XN" is a little different from the feeling when we come here as just the four members of "O:XN".
I also felt that there were fewer fans who were tired than before. However, what I felt again through this event was that we need to tighten our resolve and start again, and that we have come this far.
Jaehan: I haven't realized that I've grown much yet. I'm certainly working hard to improve, but
It's rare that you realize you've "grown" at that exact moment. So, after I've finished my activities in Japan and returned home, I thought, "Ah, this was really helpful," or "I learned a lot here."
Q. After the Japan event, was there a moment when you felt the bond and mutual support between the members? Also, is there anything you would like to convey to the members again?
XEN: I have one memory. When I came to Osaka FAN-CON from Korea, my leg was a little weak.
I was able to get some treatment and come to Japan in good condition, and was able to perform at events, but at Osaka FAN-CON I really felt that my leg wasn't in good condition.
So, during the second performance, I thought, "Oh, this isn't good after all," and it seems that this was a little bit apparent on stage. But then YECHAN was excited.
He gave it a really high rating, and no one knows if it was for the members' sake or if he was just having fun, but I'm being very careful in my own way and it's a difficult situation.
JEHYUN: Actually, I've known our closeness and the relationship between the members for a long time.
I think everyone in the group felt that way, so I think that part of you is always there naturally. I think that's a really good thing. Q.
What they want to try for the upcoming Tokyo event, what they want to show on the new stage, and Tokyo
Please give a message to the fans who are looking forward to the performance. YECHAN: Last time, we had a week-long performance in Osaka. What did you feel and what did you receive from the fans?
We received some feedback, so we'll discuss it with the other members and hope to be able to show you a better, more enjoyable and fulfilling performance. And we hope you'll come and see us.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who came to the event, including those who live in Tokyo, those who came from other regions, and those who came from other countries.
XEN: After the Osaka FAN-CON, it was physically very tough for me, but after it was over, I felt a sense of healing...or rather, a sense of relief for my soul.
I felt like my heart was really loosened up. That's how I felt personally, but I think the fans felt the same way.
We will do our best to approach the tour with the same spirit, so we hope that many people will come and see it. JAEHAN: First of all, we were able to finish off the tour in Osaka, so we are looking forward to seeing you in Tokyo for a long time.
It will be about three times longer than the Osaka tour, but we will do our best to manage our condition and put on a good performance in good condition.
JEHYUN: If we can get more fans in the future, short concerts would be fine, but we would like to show more.
I hope to create many stages and have schedules and performances that allow us to show more stages. I hope to move the stage to Tokyo and gain even more momentum, while keeping the same enthusiasm as in Osaka.
"OX:N" is accelerating the trend. The four-person unit has a strong sense of unity and a gentle atmosphere, and their stage performance is constantly being updated. From the words in the interview, fans
Their deep gratitude and determination for their future activities were clearly conveyed. There are still many events to come in Tokyo. OX:N shows a new side of themselves every time they take to the stage.
This is a precious opportunity to experience "this moment." We hope you will come to the venue and fully experience the energy and warmth created by the four members, as well as the teamwork that is unique to OX:N.
