'Explosion' occurs when trying to exterminate rats... 20 bottles of insecticide sprayed in South Korea
A fire and explosion occurred at a house in Daegu after spraying 20 cockroach insecticides. The ignorant action taken to get rid of the rats led to a huge fire.
According to the Daegu Seobu Fire Department on the 16th, an explosion and fire broke out at a house in Daegu at around 11:17 a.m. on the 11th of this month. The fire appears to have started in the living room.
The fire department estimated that 8.3 million won (approximately 910,000 yen) of damage occurred. Fire authorities secretly administered 20 bottles of cockroach insecticide to Mr. A (69), a resident, to get rid of rats in the ceiling of his house.
It is believed that the fire was caused by spraying into the closed living room. A power source inside a house was found with fine particles of liquefied petroleum gas, a flammable substance used as an insecticide propellant, floating in the air.
It was determined that the fire was caused by a spark from the insect killer. Mr. A was reportedly evacuated outside the residence at the time of the explosion and was not injured.
Fire authorities recommend that when using aerosol products such as pesticides, ▷ do not light a fire after spraying the product, and ▷ do not use aerosol products such as pesticides in closed spaces.
▷ Do not store near open flames such as fireplaces or gas ranges; ▷ Prevent aerosol containers from being thrown into garbage incineration.
Ta. A fire department official said, ``Most aerosol products such as pesticides and hairspray use flammable high-pressure gas such as LPG as a propellant, which has the risk of exploding, so care must be taken to avoid explosions.''
” he called out.
