”I'm so frustrated I can't stand it anymore”...Areum (formerT-ARA) finally releases assault photos after exposing former husband's abuse

Areum, a former member of South Korean girl group T-ARA, once again revealed that she was assaulted by her ex-husband.

　On the 25th, Areum posted a lengthy exposé on SNS after she began writing, "I can't take it any longer, so I'm going to talk about my past marriage".

　Areum wrote "After marriage, I was given two or three living expenses, all of them. I have lived hard to feed my children and I have had to live as well, I have had to fit in daycare hours, work at a café, etc." She added "(My ex-husband) pushed me down on the bed in front of my children around November 2009, ripped my clothes off and tried to kill me by strangling me. She claimed that she was assaulted by her ex-husband, who hit her so hard on the side of her nose that she had a bruise and hit the soles of her feet so hard with his fists that she could not walk for some time."

　She said that her ex-husband usually took her mobile phone when she got into a fight, locked her in her room and then assaulted her on a daily basis, "I couldn't even think about my clothes being ripped off while holding my child and I just ran outside blindly and ran away", and "After a few days, he said he would never do it again. I believed him and did not even think of leaving a single piece of evidence. His mother was rather angry and told my mother, 'she did something that made him hit her, so he will hit her'".

　Areum also revealed that at the time of her appearance on the variety show Between Marriage and Divorce, there was a period when her relationship improved a little and she had a second child, but then she was expecting a baby and problems arose again. She said that her ex-husband had to kick her out and she had to live with her eldest son, and added "I came back to myself clearly in the divorce court when I saw him put everything out, including the child abandonment memorandum he wrote for the children, cutting out all the situations where I had a mental illness, where I had beaten the children, where I had committed the assault before and after, and where he had assaulted me. I was clearly turned upside down. Since that time, I have also collected a lot of evidence."

　She stated that the conflict continued after the birth of the child. She revealed that she "met my current lover some time after we started living separately' and that her current lover helped her a lot and that it was only after more time had passed that they became lovers." She added: "I came to know the fact that [her ex-husband] gambled and went to the shop and lied to me about being late. Even when my eldest son was ill with meningitis, he was still going to the shop. It made me mad."

　Along with this, Areum published photographs as evidence that she herself had been assaulted at the time. She said, "The day I was mercilessly beaten by that man in front of my children, I took this photo right after I ran away to my parents' house", and added, 'It's a normal dress all ripped. You can't see it, but I had bruises all over. My nose bone was bent and became bruised the following month."

　She continued, "I can't stay like this any longer because I'm so frustrated, so I had to post this, but I will definitely beat it and live to protect my children even stronger", and added, "I can't keep feeling so upset and flustered, so even if I can't continue with words, I just know that this is what happened, and I'd be grateful if you could see it. I would be grateful if you could just see it as such a situation."

　Areum joined T-ARA in 2012 and left the following year for health reasons; she got married in 2019, had two sons and appeared on TV-ING's 'Between Marriage and Divorce', revealing the process of overcoming the divorce crisis. In December last year, she released a photo of herself with her boyfriend, simultaneously announcing her divorce and plans to remarry, and recently caused a stir by revealing that her ex-husband had committed domestic abuse.
