Former T-ARA member ARUM on trial for allegedly defrauding fans and acquaintances of 3.2 million yen

Lee ARUM, a former member of the girl group "T-ARA," and her boyfriend were handed over to court on suspicion of borrowing 30 million won (approximately 3.2 million yen) from fans and acquaintances and not paying it back.
On the 21st, the Ansan branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office arrested and indicted Lee ARUM's boyfriend, Mr. A, on suspicion of fraud last month, and indicted Lee ARUM without detention.
The group is accused of borrowing about 37 million won from three acquaintances, including a fan, and then failing to repay the money.
The victims filed complaints against Lee in succession between March and May of last year, alleging that Lee had borrowed money from them for personal reasons and had not paid it back.
Lee Arum's fraud allegations were also covered in the "True Story Investigation Team" broadcast in June last year. At that time, most of the victims who appeared in front of the camera were "T-ara"
The fans, Lee ARUM and Ms. A, borrowed money from them for various reasons, including health issues and divorce proceedings. Separately, Lee ARUM was recently accused of child abuse and defamation.
He was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for two years. The court also ordered him to take 40 hours of child abuse prevention classes.
