ARUM, a former member of the South Korean girl group T-ARA, was given a suspended prison sentence on suspicion of child abuse and defamation, and her appeal was rejected.
According to the legal community on the 9th (today), the 6th-1st Criminal Division of the Suwon District Court dismissed the appeal filed by ARUM, who was indicted on suspicion of child abuse and defamation, last month.
ARUM slandered and damaged the reputation of Mr. A on LIVE STREAM after he was accused of emotionally abusing his ex-husband in front of their children and released the court ruling against his ex-girlfriend.
The court previously sentenced ARUM to eight months in prison, suspended for two years. It also ordered them to take a 40-hour course on child abuse prevention. However, ARUM refused to comply.
Meanwhile, ARUM joined T-ARA in 2012 and continued to work with the group, but left the group in 2013 for health reasons.
She married a businessman two years older than her and had two sons, but announced in 2023 that she was in the process of filing for divorce and revealed plans to remarry with her new boyfriend. In the process, she was accused of defrauding fans and acquaintances of their money.
