Ma Dong Seok of the movie ”The Outlaws 4”: ”I can only imagine Kim Moo Yul for the role of Baek Chang Gi...great action”
Ma Dong Seok of the movie "The Outlaws 4" shares his thoughts on reuniting with Kim Moo Yul in a character completely opposite to the one he played in "The Cop, the Devil, the Outlaws," and on casting Kim Moo Yul as the fourth villain.
On the afternoon of the 15th, a press conference for the movie "The Outlaws 4" was held at the Megabox COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and was attended by director Heo Myung-hyun,
Actors Ma Dong Seok, Kim Moo Yul, Park Ji Hwan, and Lee Dong Hwi participated in the event to discuss the project.
Baek Chang-gi (played by Kim Moo Yul), a mercenary from the special forces who runs an online illegal gambling ring, and Jang Dong-cheol (played by Lee Dong Hwi), a genius CEO of the IT industry, are fighting again.
The film depicts the crime sweeping operation that unfolds with the returning Jang Yi Soo (played by Park Ji Hwan) and the regional investigation team and cyber team.
It has maintained its number one position in sales. Ma Dong Seok and Kim Moo Yul co-starred in the movie "The Outlaws, the Cops, the Devil" five years ago, as a thug and a detective, respectively. The two reunited in "The Outlaws 4."
The role of Ma Dong Seok is the opposite of that of the villain, with Kim Moo Yul playing the villain and Ma Dong Seok playing the detective. Ma Dong Seok said, "Kim Moo Yul had been a big star as an actor even before we worked together in 'The Outlaws, the Cops, the Devil, the Gangster, the Outlaws.'
He is a dear junior whom I also love. In 'The Cop, the Devil, the Outlaws', Kim Moo Yul played a detective and I played a thug. We did a lot of action scenes together and he was very flexible and amazing.
He is a very skilled actor who can do a variety of action scenes. He handled even the most difficult scenes with ease," he said, praising Kim Moo Yul.
Regarding his impressions of working together in "The Outlaws 4," he said, "I hope to meet Kim Moo Yul again in another work someday.
I wanted to do it. When I was working on the script for The Outlaws 4, Baek Chang-gi's character had such excellent fighting skills that I could only think of Kim Moo Yul.
"I offered him the role because I wanted him to do it again. I'm grateful for his brilliant performance. I hope to see him again, even if it's not in 'The Outlaws', as another character," he said.
"The Outlaws 4" will be released in Korea on April 24th.
