Reform Party leader: ”I'm better at politics than President Yoon” (South Korea)
On the 25th, Lee Jun-seok, the leader of South Korea's New Reform Party, said, "I think I can do better in both domestic and foreign affairs than President Yoon Seok-yeol,"
Lee made the remarks on a Korean radio program on the same day. Lee was elected in the recent general election for the National Assembly (held on April 10th) and has been a leading figure in Korean politics ever since.
"There is a very strong possibility that he will emerge as one of the candidates for the 2027 presidential election," said Kim Jong-in, a former permanent adviser to the party.
Regarding being mentioned as a candidate for the next presidential election, Lee said, "I will serve my country as much as I can.
"I want to serve the nation, but only if I have the ability to do so," he said. "I need to continue training in order to have political power that is acceptable to a certain extent in the international community, based on absolute standards."
"It is pathetic that President Yoon is acting like this without any political training, either at home or abroad," he said.
