Young candidates from the party who ran in the general election are also participating, attracting attention. Kim Yong-tae, who was elected in the constituency of Pocheon City and Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi Province, and Kim Jong-un, who ran in the constituency of Osan City in Gyeonggi Province, are also participating.
Kim Hyeo-eun, an English instructor at EBSi, has decided to participate. Kim Jae-seop, who was elected in the A electoral district of Dobong-gu, Seoul, a representative battleground for conservative parties, has also decided to participate.
The white paper is also expected to reflect the opinion of Han Dong-hoon, the former emergency response committee chairman who also served as chairman of the general election response committee.
According to the Korean media Herald Economic Newspaper on the 25th, the General Election White Paper Task Force is expected to complete the selection of TF members as early as this weekend.
Kim Yong-tae explained his decision to join the task force, saying, "I received the proposal a few days ago, and I felt that I needed to play a role in helping the party gain public support, given the difficult political situation in the party."
Kim Hyo-eun said, "As a woman in her 30s and 40s and a mother, I want to actively support areas where I can, by implementing various strategies that focus on specific groups and by reflecting the voices of those on the ground.
"I wanted to support the party and decided to participate," he explained. Kim Jae-seop, who is seen as a "flag bearer of the 30s" within the party like Kim Yong-tae, is currently considering joining the TF.
"I haven't made a decision yet, but I think the losers should come more to the forefront. I want to play the role I'm given and contribute to the party's success," he told the Ji Newspaper.
The task force, chaired by the party's lawmaker Cho Jeong-hoon, has included five to seven innovative issues in the white paper for this general election, and has set targets for the local government two years from now.
The goal is to draw up a roadmap for the party heading into the election. To that end, the party will collect opinions from the 254 regional candidates who ran in the general election through an anonymous survey.
Based on the opinions of the people involved, the TF will hold detailed interviews with former emergency response committee chairman Han and former public election commission chairman Chung Yong Hwa, and will reflect the results in the white paper. The general election white paper TF is made up of about 14 people and is responsible for the evaluation.
Members of the emergency response committee in question will not participate.
