廃線と誤認「線路で無許可撮影」ユーチューバーに注がれた非難=韓国
YouTuber criticized for ”unauthorized filming on railroad tracks” after mistakenly thinking it was an abandoned railway line = South Korea
Dotty (real name Na Hee-seong, 37), a creator with 2.34 million subscribers and nicknamed the "Little President (Elementary School President)," has apologized for the controversy over violating the Railway Safety Act.
On the 1st, the Korean digital entertainment company Sandbox Network posted on their official account, "Recently, our creator Dotty was shooting content and was filming a facility.
Sandbox posted an apology that began with, "After checking inside the facility, we discovered that prior permission had not been obtained for the filming, and we apologize for this."
It has been confirmed that the production team did not conduct sufficient prior research on the "Sankaku Baekbin Railroad Crossing" in Sanjaku-gu, mistakenly believed it to be an abandoned railway line, and no prior permission was obtained."
They also apologized, saying, "We took every precaution to ensure that there were no safety issues during filming, but in the end we caused inconvenience to many people and we are sorry for that."
He continued, "We acknowledge that there were procedural shortcomings, and will discuss this with the relevant agencies in the future, and if there are any necessary procedures, such as the collection of fines, we will make sure to take action."
The statement concluded by saying, "We will explore ways to prevent such an incident from happening again and will be extremely careful throughout the entire filming process."
Prior to this, on April 13, Dotty posted on her social networking service (SNS) with the caption, “Taking emotional photos,” at Baekbin Park near Yongsan Station.
The photo was taken at the "railroad crossing" on the railway tracks. The railway in question is a section connecting the Gyeongwon Line and the Gyeongbu Line, where trains actually pass through.
It was pointed out that entering the train would be punishable as a violation of the Railway Safety Act. Immediately after the post was published, netizens commented, "Did Korail get permission to enter the train?"
"Those tracks are in operation. Trespassing will incur a fine," "Is it okay for YouTubers watched by children to do this?" "What if kids see this and try to imitate it?"
The case involved Dotti's unauthorized entry onto the tracks. Article 48 of the Railway Safety Act prohibits unauthorized entry into or passage through railway facilities, including tracks. Violation of this law carries a fine of 5 million won.
In addition, in order to photograph railway facilities, prior approval from the Korea Railroad Corporation must be obtained at least seven days in advance.
In particular, there was criticism that since Dottie was nicknamed "Little Leader," there was a risk that children would imitate her.
After the controversy arose, Dotti deleted the video. Dotti was born in 1986 and is now 37 years old.
A graduate of Yonsei University's School of Law, he gained recognition through his work on internet broadcasts and as a YouTuber. He is also the co-founder of the Sandbox Network.
