"The Outlaws 4" is the first Korean film series to reach 40 million cumulative viewers. As of 7:30 a.m. on the 13th, the 20th day after its release, the film had a cumulative audience of 9,756,970.
The film has topped the box office charts for three consecutive weeks, and is on track to reach triple 10 million in the next few days.
Thus, the "Crime City" series has been growing in popularity, with 6,885,546 viewers for "Crime City" (2017), which announced the start of the series, and the highest grossing film in the series, "Crime City: The Crime City" (2018).

It recorded the highest opening of any Korean film or series in 2018. It also attracted 1,219,040 viewers on the fourth day of its release, breaking the record for the highest single-day audience of the series.
In addition, the box office success of "The Outlaws 4" has sparked a re-watch boom for the previous series, and all three films in the series are available for box office release at online theaters.
The series has ranked within the top 10 in the reverse race (5/9 criteria), continuing its overwhelming progress as befits Korea's leading series.
"The Outlaws 4" is a story about the monster detective Ma Dong Seok who is involved in a large-scale crime.
Jang Yi returns to face off against Baek Chang-gi (Kim Moo Yul), a special forces mercenary who runs an online illegal gambling ring, and IT industry genius CEO Jang Dong-cheol (Lee Dong Hwi).
The film depicts the crime-fighting operations carried out by Park Ji Hwan, a police inspector general, together with the regional investigation team and cyber team, and is currently receiving rave reviews in Korea.
