Construction of the Yiwu to Wenzhou section of the Hangzhou-Wenzhou high-speed railway project began in June 2020 as the first phase, and construction of the Hangzhou to Yiwu section as the second phase will begin in June 2020.
Construction of the section began in September 2021. Bridge construction is expected to be completed by July 2023, and rail laying completed by January 2024. Detailed inspection work will begin in March of the same year.
This time, full-scale investigation and testing has begun with the running of inspection trains. The railway has 10 stations in total: Tonglu East Station in Hangzhou, Pujiang Station in Jinhua, Yiwu, Dongyang, Pan'an,
The line will pass through Xianju in Taizhou City to Wenzhou North Station in Wenzhou City, and then use the existing Hangzhou-Shenzhen Line tracks to continue to Wenzhou South Station.
Once the Hangzhou-Wenzhou high-speed railway opens, travel time between the major cities of Hangzhou, Jinhua, Yiwu and Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province will be reduced to about an hour.
It will be possible to travel back and forth.
