Another South Korean Army trainee dies, this time during ”discipline training”

On the 25th, an unfortunate incident occurred at an army unit stationed in Inje, Gangwon Province in northern South Korea, in which a soldier died during training.
On the 26th, the Army said, "Around 5:20 pm on the 23rd, a trainee at a certain unit in Gangwon Province collapsed during military discipline training and was immediately taken to a private hospital.
"The condition of the soldier worsened. Unfortunately, he died in the line of duty the previous afternoon," he said. "Military discipline training is training aimed at strengthening military discipline, and is intended to provide mental and physical training.
Six soldiers, including the deceased soldier, were participating in the training when the accident occurred. The Army has expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and has promised to provide full support.
Regarding the circumstances, the Army said it was working with the private police to carry out a thorough investigation. As for why the information was released one day after the accident, the Army explained that it was "a result of respecting the wishes of the bereaved families."
The family members initially did not want the information to be made public in the media. However, after misinformation spread through social media, the decision was made to make the facts public after consulting with the family members.
Meanwhile, a grenade exploded during training at the Army's 32nd Infantry Division recruit training unit, killing a trainee in a tragic accident.
