<Billiards> PBA-LPBA 2024-25 season media day held...First global tour, ”Vietnam Tour” to be held in August
The Professional Billiards Association (PBA) held the 2024-25 season PBA-LPBA Tour Media Day at the Korea Press Center in Seoul on the 10th.
Representing the BA and Women's Division LPBA were Cho Jae-ho, Daniel SANCHEZ (Spain), Kim Yong-won, Kim Ga-young, and Pheavy.
An official press conference was held with the participation of SRUONG (Cambodia). This is the sixth season and the first "global tour" will be held.
The third tour of the season will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam. It will be run as an open tournament in which local Vietnamese players can also participate. The tournament management method and the selection method for participants will be the same as the current tournament.
The current internal discussion is ongoing. Starting this season, the total prize money for the women's LPBA Tour will be revised upward from the current 50 million won (approximately 5.7 million yen) to 100 million won, and the women's division winner's prize will be increased to 4 million won.
The LPBA has revised its annual fee upwards to 10,000 won. Due to the improvement of the LPBA competition level and the increase in interest, the LPBA has increased the exposure time of the competition.
The best-of-32 and best-of-16 format was also changed. The previous LPBA Tour format was a best-of-three format.
However, starting this season, the LPBA Best 32 will be a best-of-four (tiebreak) format, and the Best 16 will be a best-of-five (best-of-five) format. In addition, LPBA tour broadcasts will be expanded from last season.

This season, Yusuke Mori (SY), Orie Hida (SK Rental Car), and Fumiko Kai (Hana Card) were selected for the team league and will participate in the tour.
Kim Yong-Ji, PBA Executive Director, said, "This season, the Global Tour will be held in Vietnam for the first time in six seasons, and the LPBA will significantly increase the total prize money from 50 million won to 100 million won.
"We also plan to broadcast more LPBA matches live," he said. "To increase the sense of speed, we will cut out unnecessary gameplay processes and present quick, exciting matches.
