North Korean troops cross the MDL, South Korean troops fire ”warning shots”... First ”gunfire” in four years = South Korea

As military tensions between the two Koreas rise due to "filthy balloons" and "loudspeaker broadcasts," the South Korean military fired warning shots at dozens of North Korean soldiers who crossed the Military Demarcation Line (MDL).
This was confirmed on the 11th. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said on the same day, "At around 12:30 on the 9th, some North Korean troops working within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the central front crossed the MDL.
"After our military made a warning broadcast and fired warning shots, the North Korean troops returned to the North again," he said.
"There have been no other unusual movements," the ministry said, adding, "Our military is closely monitoring the movements of the North Korean military and is taking necessary measures in accordance with operational procedures."
This is the first inter-Korean shooting in nearly four years since May 2020.
