"It is a dangerous and irresponsible move that will shake the country's foundations," he said. President Yoon used the opportunity of his state visit to Kazakhstan to write articles in the state-run daily newspapers Egemen Kazakhstan and Kazakhstanskaya Pravda.
President Yoon said, "Kazakhstan is a model country for denuclearization, having voluntarily discarded the large number of nuclear weapons it received from the Soviet Union after gaining independence."
"Despite repeated decisions by the UN Security Council and the unified voice of the international community calling for North Korea to abandon its nuclear program, North Korea continues to develop nuclear weapons and their delivery means, seriously endangering international peace and security," the statement said.
"This is a threat to the United States," he said.
