The Korea University Medical School Emergency Response Committee, which includes professors from the Korea University Medical School, said, "We voted on June 10th and 11th, and the professors at Korea University Medical School agree to the simultaneous closure of all clinics on the 18th. Over 90% of professors are now in favor of this.
The emergency response committee said, "We agreed that we should respond to the medical emergency together under the leadership of the Medical Association."
Three months have passed since he left, but the government has not only accepted the seven major demands of the resident doctors, but also the opinions of the Council of Medical School Presidents, the Hanlim Medical Center, and any arbitration proposals from the National Medical University Professors Emergency Response Committee.
"They have stuck to their guns and have been solely focused on gathering public opinion, dismissing the medical community's views as collective selfishness," he said.
He continued, "Finally, on the 4th, the Minister of Health and Welfare issued a withdrawal order prohibiting resident doctors from resigning and ordering them to start working.
"While we are encouraging doctors to return to their jobs, we are preparing to suspend the licenses of doctors who do not return or who resign for three months," he said.
"This is a call from the entire medical community to appeal to the government and the public at a time when the medical community and medical professors have no more options available," he added.
The emergency response committee said, "To protect our juniors, and therefore the health rights of the next generation,
"In order to reduce the burden of medical care, and to protect the freedom of choice of occupation and freedom of assembly and association guaranteed by the Constitution, the medical community will raise legitimate claims with one voice."
