President Yoon celebrates ”K-Silk Road” with Uzbekistan's president

South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl, who is currently on a state visit to Uzbekistan, planted a commemorative tree with Uzbekistan's President Mirziyoyev on the 14th (local time) to celebrate cooperation between the two countries.
The summit, which lasted more than 20 minutes, was held to celebrate the achievements of an agreement to expand the "Special Strategic Companionship" between the two countries and to export Korean high-speed rail vehicles.
Kim Tae Hee, First Deputy Director of the National Security Council, held a press conference at the local press center on the same day and said, "The commemorative tree planting by President Yoon and President Mirziyoyev took place in the capital, Tashkent.
"The ceremony took place in front of the Presidential Palace Guest House in Kent," he said. "I congratulate them on taking the first step of the K-Silk Road and hope that the relationship between our two countries will continue to develop strongly toward a bright future."
"In May of this year, I planted a fir tree right next to the one planted by Russian President Putin," he said. This visit marks the first time that Uzbekistan has become as close to Russia as it has traditionally been one of its major partners.
The presidential office explained that this can be seen as a strengthening of trust.
