Actor Lee Je Hoon: ”Signal 2” script is amazing... ”Writer Kim Eun Hee is more like Kim Eun Hee”
Actor Lee Je Hoon shared his thoughts about the upcoming TV series "Signal 2" by writer Kim Eun Hee, which is currently in production, and teased the show's completion, which exceeds expectations, raising curiosity.
Lee Je Hoon gave an interview to reporters in Seoul on the 20th, ahead of the release of the film "Escape."
"Escape" is about a North Korean soldier, Gyu-nam (played by Lee Je Hoon), who is trying to escape in order to save the day, and a security officer who is pursuing Gyu-nam to protect the day.
This is a movie about the life-risking chase of Lee Hyeon-sang (played by Koo Kyo Hwan). After 10 years of military service, Lee Je Hoon is about to be discharged and dreams of a new life in Korea.
Prior to the release of the film "Escape," Lee Je Hoon appeared in the TV series "Investigative Team Leader 1958" and held a fan meeting earlier this month.
He is currently leading a non-stop daily life. He is also currently planning his next projects, the TV series Signal 2 and Model Taxi 3, and has been active for several years without a break.
After gaining attention for his role in the movie "Guardian," Lee Je Hoon has firmly established himself as a top actor. When asked what motivates him to continue working tirelessly, he said, "After my surgery last year, I wanted to 'live life the way I wanted to' and '
I think I have not yet put into practice the idea that I will live as I please. I feel bad for my body, but I have no choice because if I see a good project or a good script, I want to do it."
In particular, "Signal 2" is one of Lee Je Hoon's upcoming works that is attracting much attention. Lee Je Hoon previously attracted many viewers with the tvNTV series "Signal" in 2016.
It has created a deaf fanbase and is also the representative work of star writer Kim Eun-hee. When it was announced that the long-awaited sequel to "Signal" was being produced, it attracted the attention of the industry and the public.
With the official production confirmation, the fact that Lee Je Hoon will also be involved in the sequel is raising expectations. Lee Je Hoon said, "I can't give you any details, but when I saw the script, I thought, 'Wow, this is amazing.'
"The script wasn't completely read, I only saw the beginning, but I was amazed and thought, 'How can they write sentences like this? It's crazy.'"
He continued, "I'm very grateful and excited that Signal 2 has finally come out after such a long wait.
He again expressed his admiration, saying, "Kim Eun-hee wasn't simply Kim Eun-hee, but I feel like she was 'more' Kim Eun-hee."
Since "The Guardian," you have been accumulating a variety of TV Series-like filmography. Do you feel any pressure?
Lee Je Hoon said, "There is a burden with every project," but added, "I think there is a difference in the level of interest between what critics say, the attention of the public, and being loved.
In that sense, I always act with the hope that the reaction will be good. Even if I don't receive enough love to satisfy myself,
I may feel some frustration, but I still want to convince those people and be loved by them through my acting. I want to hone myself even more. I want to show them a more developed side of me.
"I don't want to rest on my laurels. As long as there is an opportunity, I want to keep doing it as long as I'm chosen," he said. Meanwhile, Lee Je Hoon's screen comeback "Escape" will be released on July 3rd.
