This is a 3.3% increase compared to the same month in 2019 before the COVID-19 virus outbreak. The number of guests from mainland China increased by 9.7% to 870,000, and the number of guests from overseas increased by 66.1% to 8,000.
The average occupancy rate for rooms in the first five months of this year was 84.3%, up 7.7 percentage points from the same period last year. The number of overnight guests increased 25% to 6.135 million.
This indicates that Macau's hotel industry is on the road to recovery.
