YouTuber: ”I'll reveal my Vietnamese wife who ran away six days after we got married” = Korea
Recently, the number of international marriages in Korea has increased dramatically, and cases of fraud and illegal residence by foreigners have also been occurring one after another. In response, a YouTuber claimed that a Vietnamese woman ran away from home six days after entering the country,
Recently, a YouTube channel posted a video titled "Vietnamese wife who fled six days after entering the country, illegally staying in the country, publicly wanted"
The YouTuber introduced the story of a man named A who was a victim of international marriage fraud, saying, "He married a Vietnamese woman named B, but B ran away from home six days after the marriage.
The YouTuber then revealed the photo and real name of B, whom A is looking for. The YouTuber said, "B's visa expired on January 26th of this year, and he is currently out of work.
He explained, "According to witnesses, B works at an entertainment venue, and he visited the scene but was unable to meet his wife."
However, since South Korea prohibits "private sanctions," the internet cannot sanction YouTubers who disclose personal information.
There are mixed opinions among internet users. Some have responded by saying, "You can see his face," and "No matter how angry you are, it's not good to use his real name," while others have said, "We will definitely find him and punish him severely."
Some people support the YouTuber, saying things like, "She should be," "Even I would be angry if she just stole the money and ran away," and "I feel so sorry for the victim."
According to the "2023 Marriage and Divorce Statistics" released by the Statistics Bureau in March this year, the number of marriages last year (based on marriage registration)
The number of marriages between Japanese and foreign nationals was estimated at 194,000. International marriages were 20,000, accounting for 10.2% of all marriages. Marriages with foreigners increased by 18.3% (3,000) from the previous year.
However, as the number of international marriage cases increases, some foreigners marry Koreans with the aim of obtaining Korean citizenship, but then run away from home after obtaining citizenship.
The proportion of so-called "international marriage fraud" cases is also increasing. However, no government survey has been conducted on the actual situation of international marriage fraud victims.
