Incheon Metropolitan City Corporation announces basic plan for Yeongjong Haneul City to build bio-specialized complex (Korea)

The Incheon Metropolitan City Corporation has unveiled the basic design for the Yeongjong Haneul City 3rd Stage Special Planning Area, which the Korean government has designated as a bio-specialized complex with the aim of nurturing national cutting-edge strategic industries.
Yeongjong International City Bio Specialized Complex, located in the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ), is strengthening the technological development and manufacturing competitiveness of biopharmaceuticals and promoting the globalization of the bio industry.
This is a national strategic project that aims to create a new driving force for the growth of Korea's future economy by establishing global leadership.
The corporation will develop the bio-specialized complex into a permanent facility in 2026.
The plan is to link this to the reorganization of administrative districts in the Jonggu district. After repeated discussions with the government, Incheon City, and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), the plan is to focus on measures to evolve Yeongjong International City into a self-sufficient city with residential functions.
The government also said on the 7th that it is considering adding new types of permitted businesses at the general aviation industrial complex located in the north of Yeongjong Haneul City, and plans to open the complex next year after going through the approval process.
The company plans to start selling the apartment complex. In addition, it is working with LH to redevelop land, including unsold land, within the third-stage special planning area of Yeongjong Haneul City.
The two companies plan to hold talks with the Incheon city government and the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority about attracting investment to the aviation and culture complex.
We will cooperate with relevant organizations to maximize synergy between the site and global anchor companies such as Samsung Biologics and Celltrion, as well as Siheung Hospital in Gyeonggi Province (Seoul National University Hospital).
The corporation is aiming to develop the area into a suitable industrial complex. It will use this opportunity to attract businesses that will bring synergy to Yeongjongdo Island, and to create an environment where residence, work, and recreation can coexist.
