North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education strongly denounces Japan's defense white paper's claim of ”Takeshima sovereignty” = South Korea

On the 12th, the Gyeongsangbukdo (North Gyeongsang Province) Office of Education of South Korea strongly condemned the Japanese government's Defense White Paper for describing Takeshima (Dokdo in Korean) as South Korea's territory.
The North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education issued a statement on the same day saying, "In the 2024 Defense White Paper published by the Japanese government, 'Dokdo' was described as the 'Takeshima Territorial Dispute,' and for 20 years since 2005,
"The fact that Korea is claiming sovereignty over the islands is a serious and grave challenge to the sovereignty of the Republic of Korea and our people," said Lim Jong-sik, superintendent of education for North Gyeongsang Province.
"It is clearly our inherent territory in terms of international law and human rights," he said, adding, "We demand that the Japanese government immediately withdraw its unjust claim of sovereignty."
