JIN said through the management office's BIGHIT MUSIC, "I'm honored to be able to take part in such a meaningful moment.
It was only thanks to ARMY (fandom name) that I was able to fulfill the wonderful role of a torch relay runner.
I am very grateful," he said. "I was so nervous that I didn't know how the time passed, but I was able to make it through the day thanks to the many people at the scene who cheered me on with loud voices.
"I hope that all the Korean national team members who participated in the Olympics will achieve good results as they have worked hard," he said.
I will also support them wholeheartedly. I hope that there will continue to be a lot of interest in the 17th Paris Paralympics to be held in August this year."
He added, "I will work harder from now on and become the JIN who shows you a better performance."
That day, the scene was packed with people who had gathered to support JIN even before he appeared.
People gathered in the streets holding banners of JIN and chanting his name.
They couldn't hide their excitement. When JIN appeared on the Rue de Rivoli, the atmosphere on set reached a climax.
JIN appeared in a pure white torch relay official uniform, lighting up Paris.
Showing off his unique visual, he was handed the Olympic torch by the cyclist ahead of him, which erupted into loud cheers and applause in the streets.
JIN set out from Paris as a runner connecting a meaningful section, continuing the torch relay from the intersection of Rue de Rivoli to Place du Carrousel.
JIN handed the torch over to France's freestyle skiing national team member Sandra Lola in front of the Louvre Pyramid.
After completing the torch relay, which lasted about 10 minutes, he finished his role by extending his hand to the spectators gathered at the scene.
