「過剰警護」論議を意識か…ピョン・ウソク、警護員を半分に減らして帰国=韓国
Actor Byeon WooSeok cuts security staff in half and returns to Korea, perhaps aware of ”excessive security” controversy
Actor Byeon WooSeok (33), who has been under fire for "excessive security" when departing from Incheon International Airport in South Korea, entered the country on the 16th accompanied only by his manager and a minimal number of bodyguards.
Apparently aware of the controversy, the number of security personnel at his return was reduced to about half that at his departure. On the same day, Byun was in Hong Kong after finishing his Asia Fan Meeting tour.
At around 7:20, he entered the country through Incheon International Airport's Terminal 2. Wearing a mask and hat, he made eye contact with fans approaching him and bowed his head.
Earlier on the 12th, Byun was criticized for excessive security when he was traveling through Incheon Airport to take part in the Asia Fan Meeting tour in Hong Kong.
During this process, security guards were reported to have blocked airport entrances and checked citizens' passports and boarding passes, sparking criticism that they were providing excessive security, with some asking whether celebrities were holding public office.
A video of him flashing a flashlight at passengers in an airport lounge went viral online, leading to a petition being filed with the National Human Rights Commission.
On the 15th, three days after the controversy arose, Byun's side issued an official statement and apologized.
Baro Entertainment, Ng's management office, said, "We are sorry for the damage caused to passengers at Incheon Airport while performing security duties for actor Byeon WooSeok on the 12th.
I deeply apologize."
