South Korean YouTuber deletes video stating ”abortion at 36 weeks of pregnancy”... Doctor says ”Even if it's false, severe punishment should be given”
A female YouTuber who claimed in her vlog that she had undergone an abortion when she was 36 weeks pregnant has deleted all related content.
As of the 17th, all videos that had been posted on this YouTuber's account had been deleted.
Prior to this, on the 27th of last month, YouTuber A had attracted attention by publishing an "abortion vlog" on YouTube, in which she said, "I had an abortion at 36 weeks' pregnant."
The video of Ms. A, who had an abortion near the end of her pregnancy, has been criticized as "fetal murder," and even the police have announced their intention to investigate.
The police assigned the case to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit yesterday and began a full-scale investigation.
At a regular press conference yesterday, National Police Agency Commissioner Cho Ji-ho said, "We plan to investigate this case with greater care, unlike ordinary abortion cases," and added, "We need to investigate the opinions of experts and the specific circumstances surrounding the abortion."
" Some have speculated that the content of the video is fabricated. It seems necessary to confirm the authenticity of the video through police investigations, etc.
The identity of Barr A needs to be confirmed. In the video, A introduces herself as a woman in her 20s. The Seoul Medical Association also said yesterday, "We cannot trust everything in the YouTuber's video.
However, as this is a case that raises national suspicions about the murder of a fetus, a thorough investigation of the facts is necessary. If the suspicions are confirmed, it will be unacceptable to dare to perform an abortion at 36 weeks of pregnancy.
"We will make clear our position that severe punishment is necessary for the medical staff who committed the crime," he added. "If the allegations are not true, they are false allegations made for financial gain through YouTube.
"This is a serious criminal act that is threatening the lives of citizens by whitewashing the public with these facts and undermining the trust between doctors and patients, and we strongly urge that they be severely punished."
