The two countries shared their policy experiences in solving the low birth rate issue and discussed ways to mutually promote the issue in the future.
"We shared our policy experience in solving the low birth rate issue with the delegation from the House of Representatives of Korea and discussed ways of cooperation," he said.
The meeting was established at the request of the Special Committee on Low Birth Rate and Aging Society of Korea to exchange experiences and opinions on solving the issue of low fertility.
"Since South Korea has a higher concentration of people in the capital area than Japan, we have selected the issue of mitigating concentration in the capital area as one of our core issues and are holding monthly 'Emergency Population Conferences.'"
"We plan to take measures through the 'Countermeasures Conference,'" he said, outlining the direction of the response. He also said, "We will work together with Asian countries, such as China, Taiwan, and Singapore, which are facing common problems, to address population issues.
"We will create a channel for dialogue and provide a forum for sharing the experiences of Japan and Korea," he suggested.
