Hyundai Motor Company recently announced that its short film "Night Fishing" won the Best Editing Award in the International Short Film category at the 28th Fantasia International Film Festival, held in Montreal, Canada on the 28th (local time).
"Night Fishing" is a short film co-produced by Hyundai Motors and actor Son Sukku. It is set in an electric vehicle (EV) charging station, and is a story of mysterious events and reversals.
The film is about 10 minutes long and tells a story by a human. It is characterized by fresh editing and skillful filming, with the film being structured around the perspective of a dashcam.
This is the first time that the Korean automotive industry has won an award at an international film festival.
The film was first released in Korea as an exclusive movie at the CGV cinema, attracting a total of 46,000 viewers over five weeks. At the time, the film cost 1,000 won (approximately 111,000 won) for a 10-minute screening.
The company has recently been receiving positive reviews at major overseas advertising awards for its diverse marketing methods.
