The South Korean city of Suwon has opened "Sevi Hostel," a short-term dormitory where young people relocating to Suwon can stay for 4,000 won (US$4.30) a day.
According to Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, on the 9th, "Sebit Hostel" is a short-term accommodation facility provided to young people who are relocating to Suwon for work or study. Suwon Youth Hostel
Ten rooms (2 people per room) on the third floor of the main building will be used as the Sevit Hostel. It can accommodate up to 20 residents aged 19 to 39, and the daily rate is 4,000 won (US$4.30).
The period of use is 1 month. The conditions for admission are: △Young people who are currently working or have employment confirmed for small and medium-sized enterprises that have an address in Suwon City (first priority), △Young people who are currently working for companies or institutions other than small and medium-sized enterprises that have an address in Suwon City (second priority),
The second priority is young people who are employed or have employment confirmed, and the third priority is young people who are enrolled in a university (graduate school) or have been accepted for further study and reside in Suwon City.
Youth who do not fall under the first to third categories, such as those who are currently residing in Suwon but need a temporary residence due to the expiration of their jeonse (a type of housing rental system) or rent contract, will be subject to an internal review.
The new facility will be selected as the fourth in the list. Lee Jaejung, the special mayor of Suwon City, attended the opening ceremony on the 9th and handed out nameplates to the young people who will be moving in. The mayor said, "It is everyone's responsibility to create a society where young people can live comfortably.
"I hope that my life in Suwon will remain as a warm memory," he said.
