Recently, the online community for self-employed people, "I'm a CEO because it's too hard," posted the case of Mr. A, who runs a pizza shop.
A said, "We just received an order, so we made the product and her daughter came to the store to take it home.
"Then I got a call from the girl's mother saying, 'The pizza is leaning to one side, what's going on?'" he revealed.
According to Mr. A, the phone call was received by a store clerk. After hearing the whole story from the clerk, Mr. A called his mother again.
Mr. A said, "I called the store manager and said, 'I'm sorry. If you bring it over, we'll refund the full amount.' Then he got agitated and said, 'Why would I go?' and 'I just want a refund.'
"I explained to him that, whether it was a delivery or packaging mistake, the principle is to return the food and give a refund, but he got angry again.
"He attacked my character by saying things like, 'Even though you're the manager, you have no sense of service,' and 'Close the store,' and he threatened me by saying, 'Do you want to receive a low evaluation?'" she said.
In response, Mr. A told the customer that he would collect the food, but the customer replied, "I've already thrown it all away" and "I'm not going to write reviews."
"I'm going to give it a 1 out of 5 rating," he said, before hanging up the phone. He then revealed that the review was actually posted.
Feeling frustrated, Mr. A checked the security camera and could not hide his confusion.
The daughter was seen walking home with a pizza bag slung over one arm. Mr. A said, "I checked the security camera and saw that the daughter was carrying a smartphone after bringing the pizza home.
"He walked away with the pizza slung over his arm, looking at it. On his way home, he was holding the phone over his arm, raising it above his head, and even taking a selfie," he said, leaving me confused.
Self-employed people who learned about this situation said things like, "They probably thought they could eat it for free from the beginning," "The pizza box just turned upside down unintentionally," and "That's how it was."
"It's odd that they wouldn't have thought that the pizza wouldn't lean to one side when they brought it home," and "This is malicious disruption of business."
