Police have confirmed that they have checked the route taken by SUGA, a member of the Korean boy band BTS, after he was suspected of driving an electric scooter while intoxicated.
A Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency official said at a regular press conference on the 12th (today), "We traced back (SUGA's) movements from the location where the accident occurred," and "We checked all of his movements, but we have not been able to find any specific details."
The details are currently under investigation, so we would like to refrain from confirming or commenting on them."
In an official statement, MUSIC said that SUGA used the term "kickboard" instead of a scooter and rode "about 500m."
However, questions have arisen about this. It was confirmed that Suga was passing by the IBK Industrial Bank WM Center in Hannam-dong before the accident, and it was said that the driver had been driving past this location when the accident occurred.
The distance to the location, Nine One Hannam, is 1.5km on the road. It is 455m on foot, but if you want to cross the road, you have to cross a footbridge because there is no railroad crossing.
Electric scooters can only be driven on roads and bicycle paths. As a result, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station summoned Suga at an early stage and investigated the circumstances of his drinking and the amount of alcohol he consumed.
A police source said, "We are currently negotiating with the suspect to determine when to summon him," and added, "Because this is a criminal case, we have to summon the suspect for investigation."
Regarding the fact that his blood alcohol content was significantly higher than the limit for license revocation, he said, "I understand that some media outlets have included the figure in their articles."
"We can say that it is at the level of a license revocation, but it is difficult to say exactly how much," he said.
"We haven't received any contact," he said. Meanwhile, in regards to the allegations against ADOR's Min Hee Jin, who is in a dispute with HYBE over management rights, he said, "The allegations were submitted by both the accuser and the accused.
"We have documents and a laptop computer that have been removed, and we are currently conducting forensics," he said, adding, "Once the forensics are complete, we will promptly analyze the documents." He continued, "Once that is complete, we will investigate the accused, etc.
