韓国政府「8~10月の降水量、平年以上の水準」と予想…「”干ばつ”の心配なし」
South Korean government predicts ”August-October precipitation to be above average”... ”No need to worry about drought”
South Korea's Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 12th that "precipitation over the next three months will be average or above average, and drought is unlikely to occur."
A "drought" is a phenomenon in which precipitation in a particular area is less than average and dry conditions continue for a certain period of time (six months or more).
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced its drought forecast and warning for the current month through October. It predicted that precipitation in August would be average or above average, while precipitation in September would be above average.
Rainfall in October is forecast to be normal. Cumulative rainfall over the past six months is 117.9% of the normal (874.4 mm).
The Korean government will also conduct regular weekly inspections of the drought situation in cooperation with relevant ministries and agencies.
Preventive measures will be promoted.
