「現金を投げて」44歳の韓国人男性、なぜタイの川に飛び込んだのか
”Throwing cash”: Why did a 44-year-old Korean man jump into a Thai river?
A Korean man in his 40s was found dead in a river in Thailand after jumping into it.
A Korean man, Mr. A (44), jumped into a river in Muang Chiang Mai district, Chiang Mai province. According to fisherman B, who witnessed the incident, Mr. A arrived at the scene by tuk-tuk.
He walked along the bank, removed his jacket and was left in just his underwear, took a laptop computer from his backpack and damaged it, then threw the cash into the river and walked into the river with the laptop in his hands.
Mr. A entered the river and swam backstroke, but was swept away by the strong current and disappeared from Mr. B's field of vision. A rescue team arrived at the scene after receiving a report from Mr. B and searched the area for about 12 hours, but could not find Mr. A.
A's clothes, shoes and passport were found at the scene. A was found dead about 1km from the scene at around 2pm on the 12th.
A resident who found Mr. A floating in the water reported him to the police. Local police suspect that Mr. A's death was due to personal issues such as stress, as no signs of violence were found on his body.
Authorities have informed the South Korean consulate and are conducting further investigation into the incident.
