What are your thoughts on the end of the TV series "Kana Coincidence?"
"There were many difficulties while preparing and filming the work, but I learned a lot and was able to grow along with the character Kang Hoo-young.
I tried my best to convey the emotions of the characters in the drama, and I am grateful that the viewers were able to empathize with this. This drama was an unforgettable and precious experience for me,
I hope to see you in better works in the future. Q. The scene where Kang Hoo-young remembers his first love was portrayed very delicately. What was the most difficult part of acting out a first love?
Was there any part that made you feel uncomfortable? How did you manage to portray the character Kang Hoo-young as a cold and apathetic character, yet he sometimes shows a warm expression and tone of voice in front of Hong-joo?
I thought a lot about whether the viewers would be able to accept it naturally if I expressed it that way. In particular, I tried to portray the subtle changes in emotions that Hu Young shows towards Hong Joo in a convincing way.
I put a lot of effort into it." Q. There's been a lot of praise for the narration in the epilogue of "Coincidence?" What do you think about this?
"I haven't heard much about my good voice, so I feel inferior about it.
I'm glad to hear such praise (laughs). I will continue to pay more attention to my voice acting and strive to be able to convey a variety of emotions." Q.
Before Hooyoung confesses his feelings to Hongju, there are many scenes where he hesitates. Why did Hooyoung hesitate so much? How did you interpret and act out the conflict in his heart?
"I thought that Hooyoung was a person who had almost no experience of choosing something on his own and lived his life the way he wanted to. He lived under the protection of his parents or in their custody.
I wanted to express how Hooyoung is afraid to step outside of his comfort zone for the first time because of the emotion of love, and how it's awkward and not easy."
Q. One viewer commented, "The character has almost no facial expression, but he subtly and skillfully conveys his emotions through his eyes."
What do you think about the compliments? "I'm so grateful that the viewers noticed the subtle details of how I expressed my emotions through my eyes. I think they were able to express Hooyoung's inner thoughts through his eyes and subtle expressions.
I always tried to express different emotions through my eyes, and I feel good that I was able to convey that well. I will continue to study more deeply so that I can convey a variety of emotions through my eyes.
I will try my best to make it work." Q. There have been a lot of responses to "Is this a coincidence?" such as "An eight-part series is not enough" and "I hope they will reunite again." What do you think about this?
"I really appreciate the compliments about our chemistry. If I were to meet actor Kim Seohyun again, I would like to express more diverse emotions this time.
I hope we can show new chemistry in this situation (laughs)." Q. What do you think about the ending of Kang Hoo-young and Lee Hong-joo in the final episode?
"This ending does not mean that Hong Joo and Hoo Young's relationship is over, but that they will continue to experience many things and develop strong wills towards each other.
I think it will be a relationship that will continue to grow. I think I will be curious about it for a long time too (laughs).” Q. What viewers of “Is It a Coincidence?” said about actor Choi Jeong Hyeop, who was reborn as a “Romance Master”?
"I wanted to show a different side of myself through 'Is It a Coincidence?' and I'm curious to see if the viewers felt that way.
