On the same day, Lee said through Fei's blog, "The Yoon administration has been using its veto power over our people's lives, but it has been blaming Japan for its actions.
"They are taking the lead in helping to clean up history," he wrote. "The Yoon administration is going against historical progress. This Liberation Day is so shameful that we cannot even look up."
He continued, "If we ignore the common sense cry to 'correct the past and move forward into the future' and allow history to regress, we will never be able to build a united nation between the people and history.
"They will not be able to escape judgment," he said, adding, "The Democratic Party of Korea will do everything in its power to put an end to this administration's ahistorical, subservient diplomacy and pro-Japanese actions."
