LS and Hyundai to hold series of meetings with Indian bureaucrats, aiming to expand share in world's third-largest auto market - South Korean media
LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun met with Indian Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Reddy, in Seoul on the 12th. The two sides discussed investment cooperation in electricity, gas, energy, batteries and other areas.
In connection with this, LS Cable, the LS Group's electric cable manufacturer, established a local subsidiary, L Cable, in 2008 on a 162,000 square meter site in Bawal, Haryana, northern India.
The SCI factory is currently producing and supplying power and communication cables and parts. Hyundai-Kia Motors' R&D chief Yang Hee-won also met with Deputy Prime Minister Reddy.
Hyundai Motor India Engineering (HMIE) is discussing plans to set up a test centre, including a test vehicle plant, in the Indian state of Telangana.
The Indian automobile market is the third largest in the world after China and the United States. Hyundai-Kia Motors is aggressively expanding its market share in India.
Chairman Ui Sun Chung will visit HMIE in Hyderabad and Chennai in August 2023, followed by another visit to India in April 2024 to inspect the HMIE in Delhi.
The meeting was held at the company's new India headquarters building.
